Invitation to seminar "Plant Invasions – Is This Still Urgent?"

The Laboratory of Flora and Geobotany invites to a seminar "Plant Invasions – Is It Still Urgent?" Presenter: doctoral student Lukas Petrulaitis. The seminar will take place at Žaliųjų Ežerų St. 49, Vilnius, Room 104, on 23 January (Wednesday), 2:00 P.M. Plant invasions started to be investigated in the middle of the 20th century; however, the problem was marked out as a separate object of scientific investigations only around 1980. With research methods improving, comprehensive knowledge of plant invasions has been acquired during the recent decades. Therefore, a questions can arise – is this problem still urgent? The seminar will focus on the following issues: - Investigations of plant invasions in Lithuania and in the world. - The science of plant invasions – from genome to ecosystems. - What is still urgent in plant invasion investigations? The seminar will be led by...
