CERIC-ERIC call for proposals for access to integrated multidisciplinary facilities in the fields of Materials and Nanotechnologies

The Central European Research Infrastructures Consortium (CERIC-ERIC) calls researchers to give proposals for access to multidisciplinary integrated facilities in the fields of Materials and Nanotechnologies. Expenses related to mobility, preparation of open-access articles and the like will be covered. Lithuanian researchers are also invited to use the promotional open access financed from the project "Accelerate" within "Horizon 2020" and offered personalised support for the preparation of the proposal, measurement, as well as publication of articles. Proposal deadline 1 March 2019.

Invitation to apply for 2019–2020 short-term doctoral studies at internationally recognised foreign universities

The Education Exchanges Support Foundation (website www.stipendijos.lt) has announced a competition for short-term doctoral studies at internationally recognised foreign universities for 2019–2020. The following state support is provided for a period no shorter than 3 months and no longer than 10 months (two academic semesters in turn): Scholarship at the rate of 15 basic social benefits per month; Compensation of part of the price of studies; Travel costs. Doctoral students of at least the second semester of the first year of studies are eligible. Application deadline 7 April 2019. Invitation to Dr. habil. V. Baltrūnas' book presentation event

Dear Colleagues, By the end of the year 2018, the Nature Research Centre's collection of books was supplemented with one more book, "Ledyno dvelksmas: Grenlandija ir Lietuva" (Glacier's Breath: Greenland and Lithuania), written by a geologist Dr. habil. Valentinas Baltrūnas. The book gives an overview of expeditions to Greenland, scientific research experience and impressions. The book presentation event will be held at the Conference Hall of the Nature Research Centre (Akademijos St. 2, Vilnius) on 14 February 2019 (Thursday), 2:00 P.M. The event will present a film from the first expedition to Greenland, and the author will share his memories and impressions about the glacier. An exhibition of V.
