Invitation to Conference
This year, the Lithuanian Scientists Society celebrates its 30th anniversary. The society was established on 7 October 1989. It is involved in manor activities to promote the development of research and higher education in Lithuania: prepared the drafts of the first Law on Science and Studies (1991), Law on State Pensions for Scientists (1994) and a number of subordinate legal regulations; presents proposals to the Seimas, Government and Research Council on the issues of science and studies; from July 1989 the society issues a newspaper "Mokslo Lietuva" focused on achievements, solutions and problems in the area of research and studies.
The conference will take place on 7 October (Monday), 11:00 A.M. at the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
The draft programme of the conference is already prepared, yet proposals and ideas on relevant research and studies issues are still welcome both in writing and orally.
Each institution is invited to be represented by 25–30 persons. The resolutions adopted at the conference will be relied upon when preparing a meeting with the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Prof. Gitanas Nausėda.
