Lithuanian wolf population exceeding 500 in recent years


According to an article published in the Wildlife Research journal, the Lithuanian wolf population increased from 400 individuals in 2015 to 600 individuals in 2018, and the number of wolf packs was estimated to be at least 100 by 2018.


In cooperation with the most active members of the Lithuanian Hunters and Fishers Association, the researchers of Nature Research Centre together with the University of New Hampshire (USA) published an article where for the first time after a long period of time a detailed analysis of the state of the wolf population in 2015–2018 is presented.
