Laboratory of Molecular Ecology

The main research trend is investigation of genetic diversity of various bird species and other systematic animal groups by applying molecular markers. Another important research trend is investigation of sarcocyst diversity, life history and co-evolution with intermediate and final hosts. DNA molecular markers are used to estimate regularities in genotype variation and other factors influencing the formation of sedentary populations, and genetic structure of populations of migratory species in the country and in the species distribution range.
