Secondary metabolites in wild populations of Hypericum perforatum and Hypericum maculatum [Laukinių Hypericum perforatum ir Hypericum maculatum cenopopuliacijų augalų antriniai metabolitai]. – Botanica Lithuanica, 8(1): 43–50
A review deals with primary evaluation of wild populations of Hypericum perforatum L. and H. maculatum Cranz according to the quantity of secondary metabolites. The results of HPLC analysis show considerable variation of flavonoids and phenolic acids in leaves and flowers of both species gathered from different sites. Some wild H. perforatum plants accumulate more secondary metabolites comparing with the cultivated ‘Zolotodolinskaja’ and could be valuable for breeding.
